Income tax = not fair to transfer between spouses. Inheritance tax = just made it much more advantageous to transfer between spouses. Make your mind up you politicians! As seen in the Arctic case it is also a waste of tax payers money, which no doubt in turn results in more taxes needing to be raised to pay for the utter waste by picking on a couple who apart from anything else arranged their affairs in a legal and correct manner.
