Well, I always thought the phrase was charity starts at home, but according to recent research compiled by Enterprise Nation a staggering six out of every ten businesses start at home.
No real surprise though, after all starting a business at home has many advantages, amongst them it’s a great way to keep the costs down.
Enterprise Nation has also drawn up a ten point actions plan, which amongst other points would like to see Government and Enterprise Agencies getting actively involved with promotion and marketing campaigns for home based business.
Now these are the figures that staggered me, home based businesses account for 28% of employment and have a combined turnover in excess of £364 billion!
We have many newer businesses that with internet technology run in this manner, and they work, very well in fact!
A home based business also fits very well with the ultra busy life most mothers lead, and this is a trend we are seeing at Holden Associates.
