You are right the culture will need a huge nudge, but that is where 'young blood' comes in, the likes of the facebook generation, those who don't know there was ever a time before computers in every home, lets just hope the older generation allow them their freedom to take business forward!

Hi Jason

Many thanks for your kind words.

I agree with you. We're going to see some major changes over the next 2-3 years. I use so many secure online tools and connect to networks securely via the internet. I can pretty much work on any computer to do what I need to do. No need to worry about stolen computers and disks.

IMO what is holding SME's and accountants back won't be the technology, but the culture. Glad to see that is not a problem in your case.

The pace at which technology has previously changed and is now being used to aid small business there are certainly going to be major changes over the next 2-3 years.

I'm looking forward to see what happens in the coming year. I think there could be some major surprises - at least that's what I think on the basis of stuff I know about now.

Jason
I couldn't agree more. Our awards are about drawing attention to the good work that many accountants undertake. And our (independent) judges make their choices on that basis. I'll look forward to seeing your hat thrown next year!
