HMRC have updated their guidance publication for those thinking about working for themselves.
The guide is a good starting point, but I would recommend that after having read it, contact a local accountant and ask for a free half hour/hour just to see what more they can do for you.
The guide also has details of HMRC’s own business advice teams, these teams run workshops which cover a lot, payroll, becoming self employed etc. I do however question, why would you want to wear all those hats? Find a good adviser and let them deal with the red tap for you, and get on with running your business!
