For those trying to submit their self assessment tax returns last minute today there is, as last year, more bad news again, the service ‘has experienced technical difficulties today’, per HMRC website.
The ‘technical’ difficulties actually started last night, but have persisted through today.
The good news, if you can call it that, if you file your return by midnight on Friday (1 February 2008) it will not be treated as late by HMRC and therefore you will not receive a £100 fine.
